Polymorphous Vessels Typically melanoma will show a collection of different vessel types and when two or more vascular patterns are seen in a lesion they are termed polymorphous. These can include dotted, curved, linear irregular, coiled or helical with dotted and linear irregular being the most frequent combination. The lesion pictured below is a 2.3 mm thick amelanotic nodular melanoma. The most striking feature of this lesion is the multitude of irregular blood vessels. There are linear irregular, glomerular and comma vessels present.
